Angel Of Darkness and Afaak were weekend winners, while A Momentofmadness delights

Angel Of Darkness got the weekend off to a good start when winning at Goodwood on Friday evening. She deserved the win as she was really unlucky the time before. She looks versatile as far as trip is concerned as she is equally effective over six or seven furlongs. Our apprentice Callum Shepherd is now two from two on her and growing very fond of her.

Afaak is one of the most regally bred horses in the yard, and could be starting to live up to his pedigree. He’s definitely still learning about the game and can be babyish, so hopefully there’s plenty more to come from him.

We were absolutely delighted with A Momentofmadness’ run in the Dash at Epsom. He got a flyer from the stalls, and used his speed to get across from his uncompromising draw. Silvestre said he got a little bit lost on the track when he came under pressure, but stuck on well to finish a close up fourth. One of the things we were most pleased about is that he ran well in a big field, something he hasn’t done before and it opens up even more options for him. He’s a very quick horse who is clearly improving and we’re looking forward to the rest of the season with him.
