Winners on Thursday set things up for the Weekend

Following Plutonian’s impressive win on Monday and a couple of near misses on Tuesday and Wednesday, we were delighted to have a couple of winners at Newbury on Thursday evening. Queen Of Kalahari is so tough and is thriving on her racing.  She loves her job and we’ll keep her going. Hopefully she won’t go up too much for the win. It looks like we’ve found Doctor Bartolo’s idea trip at a mile and a quarter. He appreciated the cut in the ground and the galloping track which played to his strengths.

Saturday is a busy day and we start at Newmarket where we’re hoping the ground dries up a bit. Both Elizabeth Bennet and Ibn Malik like the ground quick. They’re going into their respective races in very good form and we’re hopeful of a good show from both of them. Elizabeth Bennet missed Ascot for this race, while Ibn Malik has been ready for a while but the ground and lack of ideal races has meant we have had to wait. We have two nice two year olds in the maiden. Jack Regan is very closely related to Jallota, and is not dissimilar to look at. He also has his cousin’s enthusiastic temperament and the race experience will do him good. Metatrons Cube is a nice horse, who has done nothing wrong at home and his work has been encouraging.

Up at York Drumochter runs in the fillies maiden – she’s been in good form since her Ayr run. In the evening Gloriux runs at Doncaster, while Never You Mind and The Big Short go at Lingfield.
