Non stayer Nebo to drop back in trip

Sylvester De Sousa confirmed our suspicions that Nebo doesn’t stay a mile after his run in the Guineas. He said he was always doing a bit too much with him early in the race and a drop back in trip and a faster pace is what he wants. He has an entry in the Commonwealth Cup and will be entered in The Jersey, but we will get him home and have a good think before making any plans. The main thing is the horse is fine and we learnt something on Saturday.

Magical Memory just didn’t go on the quick ground at Newmarket. He’s older, wiser and has had issues with his front legs over the years and won’t let himself down. Frankie looked after him, and we’ll revert to flat tracks and some give in the ground. There’s plenty of life in the old boy yet, and we’ll probably be mixing the big sprint handicaps with lower level Group sprints.
