Jallota runs at Newcastle

Jallota runs at Newcastle tomorrow in a warm up for either a trip to Dubai or a tilt at the All Weather Championships. He’ll need the run, as he always needs his first run. He had an easy time in late autumn/early winter on light exercise, but has been pleasing  his riders in recent weeks. He’s been accepted for the Carnival in Dubai and there’s a Group 2 for him at the end of the month, but we will asses the situation once he’s run tomorrow before deciding whether to send him.

Many of the horses who had been out of the yard for a winter break are now back in. The likes of Nebo and Magical Memory look really good as we begin to slowly build up their work. Two of our stars, Battaash and Dutch Connection, are still on holiday. Battaash is due back in at the end of January/beginning of February. All the reports we’re getting from Shadwell is that he looks great. Dennis and his team sent him back looking amazing last year and know him very well. We can’t wait to have him back.

After he was pulled up at Newmarket Dutch Connection went back to Darley for a full MOT. He’s having the first long holiday of his life and we probably won’t see him back in for a while. With his love for fast ground there’s no point rushing to get him ready for the start of the season. We’re delighted he’s staying in training.
