Dutch Connection spearheads a busy couple of days

Dutch Connection leads our team into a busy weekend at Newmarket when he lines up in the Challenge Stakes. It’s been well documented that he hasn’t had his ground this year, and the only time he did he won well at Goodwood. This is his optimum trip and he’s working well at home. As long as the ground is genuinely good he should have a decent chance.  The supporting cast are Spoof and Elizabeth Bennet. Callum said Spoof felt very flat at Doncaster and we’ve freshened him up for this. It’s going to be hard to win and we would be delighted with a place. Elizabeth Bennet is in the same camp as Dutch Connection and must have fast ground. We’re hoping it’s a bit faster than it was a couple of weeks ago when she ran really well Rockfel, even though she was getting ‘wheel spin’ on the ground.

On Saturday Wafy heads for the Autumn Stakes. We have been delighted with him since his win at Sandown, and with his pedigree it would be great to go into the winter with a group race under his belt. Thafeera has been a revelation being dropped back to six furlongs and she is going for some black type in the Boadicea Stakes. Porth Swthan runs in the nursery – he has a bit to do on the book but it going well at home.
