Close but no cigar at Newbury
The horses ran well on this whole at Newbury over the weekend, and we had a few frustrating near misses. Red Roman was the closest to winning on Friday missing out by a short head in the seven furlong nursery. He’s been a star this year and very rarely runs a bad race. He’s bound to be out again before the season ends because he appears to go on most ground and thrives on racing.
Nebo possibly went a bit too soon in the Mill Reef as Ryan thought he was dossing underneath him, gave him a kick and he took off only to be caught in the final half furlong. He lost a kilo in the process(!), and we have various options both here and abroad we are looking at for him. He another star – so easy to train, gives his all and loves his job.
Cotai Glory was probably beaten by his draw in one, but nevertheless ran another solid race. He’s in really good form at the moment and we will keep going with him. It would be great to get a win into him this season as he certainly deserves it.
